★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went to Waimairi Beach cafe today. Lovely atmosphere the staff were helpful and friendly, but the food was over cooked, tasteless and presented poorly. The dog enjoyed her treats but the humans left feeling underwhelmed and Disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed. Food was late due to being put behind a larger group after being served before them.
I got a big breakfast. Was ok had better.
Wife ordered cheese and ham toastie which I think was cooked when we ordered then put under heat lamp for half hour.
This is the 3rd time I have been there. Twice I have left dissatisfied so I won't be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not great for allergies but has a nice kid play area.
Never has anything dairy free or vegan in the cabinet, have asked everytime I go and they never even say they will look into it.
Also very limited vegan options on menu, usually end up getting a few sides but they charge a fortune for this rather than realising its their fault the menu is so limited.
We asked multiple times and now we just get coffee when we go. It's a shame its one of the only cafes in the area

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After previously reviewing staff who didn't seem to be enjoying their role, this time everyone was great! Friendly, helpful and efficient. Our Vax passes were recorded and we were asked if we had scanned - all politely! Food was really tasty too. Will be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well I've got to admit I was slightly disappointed as when we first arrived it looked like a great little cafe. We were greeted and served by friendly staff. The let down was by the kitchen staff even though the meal was and looked good nearly all of it was cold. You say why didn't I asked to have it heated my answer is it would have overcooked some things like the bacon and scrambled eggs. Would I go back yes but would I get the big breakfast again I'm not sure. Overall it's a good place to go for a coffee and cabinet food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Second time visiting and our experience wasn't as great as the first. Ordered a mocha and hot chocolate and both weren't rich in flavour (weak chocolate and coffee). The milk was also piping hot, therefore had to wait a bit before drinking.
For food, ordered the Eggs Benedict and Omelette with onion, cheese and chorizo filling. The Eggs Benedict was okay, the best part of the meal was the hollandaise sauce and sauteed mushrooms. The Omelette was a decent portion and was well cooked.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As soon as you step foot in the Beach Cafe you'll feel like part of the whanau. The staff here are what stood out to me, so friendly and chatty, I'd go back just to get a kia ora. I had fish n chips for lunch which were delicious and there's a decent lunch/all day breakfast menu too. You're spoiled for drinks choices and they don't mind your well behaved dog joining you on site. Theres loads of places to sit - inside and out and as the name suggests it has a great summery, beachy vibe. If you're heading down north new Brighton way, definitely stop in.
