★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, ? how i ordered, my compliments to their chef, best steak I've had!. Everyone in our group had no compliments, we were all happy campers for my birthday dinner. The Bower has a play area for the kids, and it is Dog Friendly. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could leave a 0 I would. If want to wait over an hour for drinks and have staff blame you for bad service I would definitely recommend coming here. I've experienced some pretty bad customer service yet nothing as bad as the lady who served us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not a very good experience, sadly. My main didn't arrive until everyone else in my party of 16 had finished their mains and mine the chowder certainly wasn't worth the very long wait. My etons mess for dessert had no meringue in it so it was just icecream and a few frozen berries. Sadly I was still charged the full price even though I drew the staffs attention to these failings. Not a happy customer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered a platter and the meat didn't quite suit the sauces they gave - they all tasted a bit weird, a bit too sweet, but also curry-like. The waitress also didn't bother telling us which sauce was which, but the three sauces given tasted pretty much the same anyway

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a very disappointing experience. We've done a tour of BBQ food and ribs in Christchurch and this rates as the lowest. Not sure where the Smokehouse is but didn't taste or smell it. Fatty ribs, dry brisket, and just unpleasant pork belly. The waffle fries were nice though. When I complained I was told the food is amazing and they have had no complaints ever. Went using first table and even with 50% off, a big waste of money. Manager/owner lacks customer service skills. Would be perfect candidate for kitchen nightmares. Do not recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First restaurant I've ever walked out of before receiving any food. Waiters are rude and the service was really disappointing. I was looking forward to trying the food. Got told it was our fault the service was terrible and the staff decided they would have a go at me and my family for trying to pay for our drinks and leave calmly. 45 minute for drinks and they forgot to bring out 2 including a child's. (But if you ask them they will say we never ordered the child a drink - what terrible people we are)
