★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very poor experience unfortunately. The location was lovely, and the wines overall quite nice. However the man who served us was, sadly, terrible. An older gentleman who simply poured the wines and offered zero information at all about how they are made or the history of the winery. I was frankly shocked at such little enthusiasm or guidance. Me and my partner started with individual tastings, but after one glass each decided just to continue with one tasting which we shared. However, when we came to pay the man charged us for 2 tastings! Terrible customour service. It seems other people have a better experience at this place, so maybe just don't come on a Sunday...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did a bicycle wine tour (bike hire with winecycles- Charlotte amazing lady) for a hens do. Beach house was our first stop and we absolutely enjoyed it. They realised we there more for pleasure and were very kind friendly and entertaining. Very affordable tasting and delicious wines we ended up buying 3 bottles. Thanks guys

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This year for our Xmas work do we decided to do a winery tour on bikes (with thanks from Coastal Wine Cycles - Charlotte offers amazing service). Our first stop was Beach House wines. It's a family run business and the Ladies were amazing. They delivered an exceptional wine tasting, leaving us with lots of really fascinating wine history knowledge (we all learnt lots), laughter in our bellies, a great understanding of their wine making journey and all the non wine extras added to their exceptional boutique wines. Beautiful wine, remarkable family business and fantastic wine tasting experience, thanks Ladies.... you left a brilliant lasting impression on us and we're all still talking about when we'll return with our family and friends.
Te Awanga Estate was next, fab experience too - Ladies also brilliant and very accomodating.
Elephant Hill was an impromptu stop and Clearview was our last stop - both of which were a tad and some what disappointing.
Highly recommend including Coastal Wine Cycles, Beach House Wines and Te Awanga Estate in your future winery tours for a great experience:-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best of the four cellar door offerings in Te Awanga. The wines were great and our host, Trevor was incredibly knowledgable and took the time to share his knowledge with us. We stayed and chatted to him for about an hour! An all-round fantastic experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was our last stop on our 2 day Hawkes Bay wine tour and we're so happy that we stopped here. Owner, Jill, let us taste their lovely selection of wines. We bought their Riesling and Malbec and we highly recommend a stop here. They had just won two trophies (Malbec and Cabernet Franc) and we loved the family atmosphere and Spanish feel in the architecture but most of all, the wines spoke for themselves.
