β β β β β Lovely pastries, but unfortunately very unpleasant customer service.
I asked politely for fresh pastries from out the back, but was argued with about this. I was also harassed about the way I was wearing my mask which made me feel very judged. Unpleasant experience, so I wouldn't go back. Each time I have been there the customer service has been notably unfriendly.
In response to the reply below, I do appreciate the difficult job staff face these days, but the way I was spoken to didn't make me feel safe.

β β β β β Delicious Danish and other specialty bread. The blueberry Danish and almond croissant are my favourites. I believe they are the best I have tasted so far in Christchurch.

β β β β β We love Bellbird Bread. Their staff are very friendly and helpful. I am always greeted with a warm and friendly welcome when I visit their store at either The Tanner or Riverside. Their bread is so good and they have a really good selection of yummy things to choose from. My favourite lunch sandwich is their tempeh filled roll ... it is sooooo yummy. I often buy their Granola Bars to take tramping or on mountain bike trips ... they really hit the right spot of sweetness and energy.

β β β β β Discriminatory bakery. They ignore mask exemptions.
The Government doesn't even recommend that private businesses should ignore mask exemptions, Bellbird Bakery is doing it purely to discriminate, despite the fact that masks don't even work to stop a deadly virus.
This bakery and all their staff live in fear.
They will give this review a copy paste response, if they even respond, that says, "Hi Caleb. As a business that allows the public into our workplace we decided to require masks as a measure to protect our staff in a pandemic. Our front of house staff are required to wear a mask all day at work, surely you can pop a mask on for 2 minutes while in our shop. We even provide them for free at the door!"
Most times that I've been in this bakery, the staff haven't even been wearing their face nappies. Hypocrites.

β β β β β The best seeded sourdough ever with other amazing flavours periodically like fig and fennel sourdough - truly delicious.
Great service always and extra delicious filled rolls and yummy slices and cakes!! Try the walnut chocolate brownie:) It is melt in the mouth......

β β β β β One of the best bakery in Christchurch with no doubt. Highly recommended the fruit Danish with filter coffee. The fruit Danish taste very naturel with just right amount of sweetness. The filter coffee is beautiful. Tbh, I can find a better croissant in town but the one is not bad, a bit dry today. The vibes is chill and relax. Love it and definitely will come and try others~~
