★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've ordered the Sambal Tiger Prawns and it was delicious!! It was also gluten free and you couldn't even tell, which I love in gluten free food being someone that is gluten free and hates bad gluten free alternatives ? the GF salted Carmel brownie is also a must have, and so delicious and salty. The Cafe itself has great and quick service, lots of indoor seating available, good calm ambience and a range of food to suit gluten free and vegetarians. There should be more cafes out there like this! ? 10/10

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the interior of this neighbourhood cafe so much! The cinammon cruffin was nice and crunchy. The soy matcha was beautifully presented and served at the perfect temperature but was slightly too sweet for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great uptown eating place with an awesome upstairs dining area and outdoor patio area. The breakfast menu has some great twists on standard breakfast items and the coffee and service is great. Definitely worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the hidden gem in Newton, the front might seem like a small corner cafe but there's a whole floor and a nice courtyard upstairs, the fried chicken burger was amazing but the cold brew coffee was tiny for $6.

Got here quite early as I expected they would be rather busy in the late morning and I was right by the time we were leaving at about 10.30 the place was filling up fast.
My partner and I ordered the halloumi chips, maple and walnut tea, the mushrooms with a side of thick cut bacon, and the Earl grey granola. Everything was really delicious, surprisingly so, it’s been a while since I’ve been to pleasantly surprised by a cafe when I have had high expectations.
The prices were a bit more than your local cafe, but unlike I can say about a lot of places, the flavour and the quality of the ingredients really reflected this. I ordered the Earl Grey Granola but requested the house made labneh and honey instead of the coconut yogurt. It was absolutely delicious and quite filling. Fresh raspberries, freeze dried strawberries and a blackberry compote combined with the tangy labneh was very delicious. At Benedict’s you really get the sense that each ingredient has been heavily thought through. The halloumi chips were absolutely fantastic. The crumb was so tasty in contrast with the soft cheese. The labneh and honey side was a great choice too.
I don’t often order coffee at cafes much anymore but I’ll definitely be ordering it from Benedict’s again. The barista was great talking about the different coffee they had available and let me try some of the filter too which was great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really beautiful food - had the beef cheek (asked for no cauli - have IBS intolerance - and they were able to leave it out easy as) and it was incredibly tasty! Meat was so soft and I loved the tiny pickled onions. Friend had the granola and it was so pretty. Iced mocha was nice too. Staff were chill and helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely experience here! Friendly, attentive staff (but not too in your face). Delicious food – a few solid options for vegans. I had the kumara croquettes dish which I thought looked a bit like a side dish at first, but paired with some fries, was the perfect amount. Will easily come back monthly. So good.
