★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well, hidden gem here - relatively easy and beautiful forest walk which our 3yo boy could do with all kinds of mushrooms to see, and some stunning views from the top.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This track is amazing. I would recommend to start on the track on your left. It started with hill climb, not that steep, then about 20minutes you will arrive to the top, spectacular view of lake Benmore. The return track, it is all going down hill, which is a lot easier. The whole track takes about 1.5 hours. Well worth it. We enjoy it very much. A must do destination when you are at Otematata.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An absolute stunning walk with 360 views of the lake and all the way across to mount Cook in the distance. Some intense up hill climbs and the pine needles can make the track a little slippery but I could not recommend it more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The trail was short but pretty steep! There wasn’t too much to look at during the hike but the view at the top was exquisite. There were so many MUSHROOMS!!

If you want to escape the noise of the city, this place is great to free your mind and be close to nature.
