About BestStart Apirana Avenue
We are a New Zealand-owned charity with preschools, kindergarten (kindy), Montessori and early-childhood home-based services nationwide.
BestStart has over 260 early childhood centres from Whangarei to Invercargill. All our centres use the New Zealand curriculum Te Whāriki, preparing children for their formal education at school. Our trained teachers support children to belong, thrive and achieve through the world-recognised philosophy of learning through play.
Our commitment to every parent ensures every child is cared for and supported in a warm, friendly and positive environment. We have excellent staff-to-child ratios, with qualified and caring teachers, quality equipment, toys and a safe and attractive learning environment.

The staff are incredible. They are amazing with the kids and so friendly to everyone that steps foot in the centre. They really make you feel like you’re part of the family.
The facilities are great and the outdoor exploration areas are brilliant.
I would highly recommend the centre to others.

Our experience has been nothing short of amazing. All staff are incredible and they really take care of all kids. Not only do they educate kids on how to read, write..etc but more importantly values. Values that ground kids at such a young age to support their journey in education. Jeremiah is able transition into primary so easily because all Best Start Apirana staff have truly taken care of Jeremiah and Micah like their own and given my kids a solid foundation that sets them up for a bright future. I recommend this daycare to everyone seeking good quality preschool education taught by beautiful, loving and amazing staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My sister says she is very lucky to have her kids there, the teachers are very kind, enthusiastic and competent. The building is purposed built and the playground is amazing. It feels like part of the family.
I had my two nephews going there since they were babies and my sister could go to work with peace of mind they were well looked after. The oldest now is at school and doing very well and the teacher said he is well prepared. The youngest still going there and loves it. Super recommend
