BestStart Portage Road Kindy childcare centre has children 2 to 5 year olds. Our childcare centre is situated on the border of Otahuhu and Mt Wellington with an outdoor environment that overlooks the lovely Mt Richmond Park.

We are a New Zealand-owned charity with preschools, kindergarten (kindy), Montessori and early-childhood home-based services nationwide.
BestStart has over 260 early childhood centres from Whangarei to Invercargill. All our centres use the New Zealand curriculum Te Whāriki, preparing children for their formal education at school. Our trained teachers support children to belong, thrive and achieve through the world-recognised philosophy of learning through play.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best start portage Road school I love they have a diverse team, they also engage in Te Reo Maori with the children, which i think should be compulsory throughout all schools, their engagement and teaching with the children the love an care they show for families, just beautiful, I don't know how they manage so many children but when I see them they do it with Ease, I'm really blessed to have found them for my 2 children they always love going to school, they come home singing songs they've learnt my daughter has so much confidence since starting at best start. The team really helped me through leaving my son when he first started he'd always cry an i just wanted to take him home but the team at Best start really helped with slowly settling him down it took a while but we made it now just like his sister he never wants to be at home hehehe for me it was about finding a place I could really trust with my children and Best Start Portage Road is where I found that trust blessed to have found them hope none of the team ever Leaves ?❤️?
