About BHB Academy
BHB Academy is a private provider which has a steep history in the Manawatu and has been operating since 1953. Originally known as The Hairdressing College.
Over the years, the academy has expanded to offer NZQA recognised qualifications in barbering, hairdressing and beauty (Makeup and skincare)
Our purpose-built facility allows us to offer our students the very best learning environment possible where they will be prepared for the real world through gaining real-life experience by offering services to the public.
Hands-on learning is one of our key focuses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were told over the phone that it’d be perfect if we arrive at 15:30 as they close at 16:00. Arrived at 15:30 the next day and not even welcomed in. Met at the door and told that 15:30 is too late as they leave the building at 16:00. Told to come back the next day when they close at 19:00 and when I said we’ll have to see, the girl just turned around and walked back in without even a “goodbye” or “sorry for the inconvenience”. I really hope this was a student who hasn’t been taught proper customer service yet, rather than a tutor. Very unprofessional.

Would have been a 5 stars if the haircut was perfect...
