Biophive began in 2011 with a mission to fully utilise the 5th quarter of the animal, and add value to meat processing industry by-products.
When livestock are processed for meat, the carcass is cut into 4 quarters, and the 5th quarter is the parts of the animal that are not used for human consumption.
This is how Biophive got its name – “phive” refers to the 5th quarter and “bio” refers to the biological raw materials used for our products.
