The whole environment is relaxed and fun for both the bridal party and guests. An incredible place to get married!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I want to preface this review by stating that the venue is beautiful and it is very clear how much work has gone into the property. However, my fiancé and I visited Black Walnut Venue a second time with our Mum's, as we were all but ready to pay the deposit and call this our wedding venue. The rude and disrespectful behaviour we received on this visit from the owner (which came completely out of nowhere) is the reason we've now booked elsewhere.
Black Walnut Venue has strict noise restrictions (100db and off at 11pm sharp) and my fiancé was asking questions around this; wanting to get a realistic idea of what the limits sounded like at the venue and to make sure it worked for both parties. We are not the type of people to push the rules, but when you're about to spend a sizeable amount of money on a venue you live nearly 3 hours away from, you want to make sure you make the most of the limited time you have to view the venue.
The owner all of a sudden had a complete change in mood, repeatedly interrupting my fiancé, calling him OCD multiple times, told my fiancé that he was stressing HIM out, aggressively told my Mum not to interrupt him when she tried to stand up for my fiancé and then told us to find somewhere else to get married.
We're not the types of people to leave negative reviews (or any reviews to be honest), however the way we were treated has left a lasting impression on us and having now found our fairy-tale venue, we would absolutely hate for anyone else's special day to be affected by his behaviour.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Attended a wedding here, and had an excellent experience. Ample parking and top notch facilities. The catering and bar staff were particularly good. The setting is lovely too, and if the weather turns bad there's an indoor venue which is just as good. Thoroughly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is perfection! We could not be happier with choosing BW, it was the first venue we visited and immediately fell in love. BW is set on beautiful grounds giving you plenty of options for ceremony spots & photo opportunities and we definitely got to make the most of it! There were also great options for us to choose from for the details like cutlery, charger plates, candles, cake stands etc. to get the look & colour palette we wanted.
Dan and Mandie were great to deal with, very friendly and helpful; both in the lead-up to our big day and the big day itself.
We stayed in the on-site accommodation and loved it, beautiful place to spend the night with my girls and get ready on the morning of our wedding.

The grounds are incredible and there are so many amazing photo locations on site. Definitely would recommend Black Walnut Venue if you're needing a wedding venue in the Tauranga region. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We celebrated our wedding at the Black Walnut recently and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The venue is simply stunning, and even better at night time when all lit up. There are loads of places on the property to celebrate (and photograph) all the special moments; we absolutely loved staying at the house for two nights; the best thing though is the service we received from staff members Robyn and Enrico. They went out of their way to make sure everything flowed well on the day, and the presentation of the tables, the serving of the food and drinks, the music and all our guests were supremely taken care of.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was our dream wedding location and our day was beyond that. After booking 2.5 year before our big day the venue just kept getting even more stunning, everything has been thought-out and they were so accommodating to what we were after. The glass house was such an amazing space to have as a wet weather option if needed that my worries of watching the weather were pushed aside. We got married under the tree's on a 25 degree day in January and our guests and bridal party were so comfortable as everyone was shaded from the hot sun. Everyone had the best time and were blown away with the beauty. We wish we could relive our day over and over again, cant recommend enough
