Karl Wansbone
My name is Karl Wansbone. My wife, Neave, and I live on a kiwifruit orchard in Pahoia with our three children. Libby is in Waipapa, Callum will start at Pahoia School later this year and our youngest, Hannah, will start in two years’ time.
I have worked for Trustpower in a number of roles for the last 13 years. I am a chartered accountant and am currently the Financial Controller managing a team of nine with my responsibilities including the accounting, treasury and tax functions. I also have a lot of experience in the strategic planning process and analysis of new business opportunities. Over the past few years, I have gained extra governance experience on the board of the MPAC kiwifruit supply entity where I am currently chairman.
I have enjoyed getting to know Pahoia School over the past two years and the pride the children show in their work, whether at assemblies or Ag Day. I am excited by the ambition there is in the School to continue to evolve the teaching, working alongside the wider School community, to further improve the achievement of each child.
I would love the opportunity to be part of the Board of Trustees and believe that, with my financial, business and governance experience, I would be able to make a positive contribution to the School as it realises its ambition over the coming years.
