★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoying a couple of days in quirky Oamaru and dropped into the cafe at Brydone Hotel.
What a find! Stepping inside on a cold and blustery day we were met with the warmth of a cosy home. It has a beautiful old style feel to it. It is with carpeted, which makes it really calm and quiet. As a pleasant cafe should be. The cabinet was full of delicious slices. We went for the Zesty Lemon and it was fabulous.
Coffee perfect and the classical music, made the experience perfect.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location with lots of parking around the back and in the middle of town. Great service. Our room was in the older part of the Hotel and had sea views and was very tidy, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Brydone is located in a historical building in central Oamaru. The building and communal areas retain a lot of the original features. The rooms are fairly priced. There is no aircon but you can open the window. It is quite peaceful and not too noisy. The rooms are clean and basic. The bathrooms have been recently refurbished and are excellent.
