★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had 2 helix piercings done 1 month ago. The older gentleman assisted me. Every single day of those 4 weeks, I had constant pain, oozing and swelling around my piercings. To the point where the piercings had looked embedded into my skin. I was under the impression it was infected and had 2 rounds of antibiotics. It never cleared! I decided I wanted them removed. I went to Modify Tattoo & Piercing, a couple of metres away. I was greeted by a wonderful couple who were shocked to find that the piercer had used a 6mm bar and that was the reason causing the irritation. The bar was too small and my ear was unable to heal because there was no space. They both assisted trying to remove the piercings (SO PAINFUL). A 7.9mm bar (this is the correct size when first piercing) couldn’t fit because my ear was too swollen, only 14.3mm (double the length). What followed was immediate relief.
Now.. you would think 4 decades of ‘experience’ this basic piercing would be a walk in the park. Well $100 later, 2 Drs fees and constant pain. Poor client prep, disappointment & experience comes to mind. Never again and would never recommend.
