About Burkes Cycles
Operating since the 1920's, Burkes Cycles has been an active part of the Wellington bicycle trade. First known as Burke Bros, we're proud to be a family business. We've sold famous bike brands like Rudge, Raleigh, Humber, Claude Butler, Empire and Chase since the beginning and now, more than 80 years later, we have seen plenty of changes in the cycling business. The Burke family still owns and operates Wellington's premier bike shop - but we aren't just a local bike, part and cycling gear store anymore!
In 1998 we undertook a major expansion to create a new home for the Burkes Cycles store and bike repair shop. With 4000 square feet of space, we're able to house far more bike and cycling accessories inventory. We've also spent a lot of time creating an online store in New Zealand that lets anyone buy parts, clothing, nutritional products and even accessories from around the country.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I popped in to Burke's Cycles Kilbirnie today after speaking with Ben on the phone and the team were fantastic - absolutely supreme customer service. I had stripped a bolt on my Cannondal rim brake and they were able to not only safely remove it, but they even had a dig around for a replacement. While I waited, the friendly and knowledgeable staff talked Cannondale's with me and obviously have a great passion for all things cycling. They then politely declined any kind of reimbursement for their efforts.
I'm leaving this review as a display of my gratitude. I will be going there for further bike needs to repay my custom, and will be recommending to anyone who is after reliable advice and assistance for any kind of bike!

by brent who guided me with the gear cassette installation and then on Easter Saturday on calling in for an emergency gear adjustment for my sons bike and Jason was very helpful along with his young colleague who helped tune the bike. It was done perfectly and it rides super smooth, so thank you for accommodating on short notice and helping out. Really appreciate it. Keep it up!! Definitely coming back and mentioned a good word on service & sales to my fellow MTB mates! ?
