I arrived as they were opening up. I wanted to get some breaks checked over on a scooter that I had assembled the night prior.
Left it with them for 15min. They checked everything (not just breaks), made some adjustments, gave me some helpful tips and didn't charge me.
Good old fashioned service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Considering the reviews, I would have expected much better service from 'Wellington's Bike Shop'. I've had a few interactions with the team and each time they have been very standoffish to the point of rude. There's a lot of toxic masculine energy around and as a femme commuter cyclist, I did not feel comfortable at all in my dealings with any of the team. If you are an male boomer expert cyclist, you'll probably be fine.
The were a number of issues with my bike service, but my main complaint is that the young guy that did my service (who to be honest seemed very inexperienced and wasn't great at communicating) didn't ring up first to get my consent to any additional work done on the bike. So when I returned to pick up the bike it cost more than I had expected. I probably would have agreed to the work they did, but I was very frustrated that I hadn't been contacted first. The mechanic wasn't apologetic and didn't really know how to process my feedback when I explained the issue to him in person.
To Pedal Project's credit (and hence the 2 starts rather than 1), when I emailed them, they immediately offered to rectify the other issues. However, I still feel like little accountability was actually taken and their communication has remained very short and impolite.
I don't normally bother to write reviews like this, but I think it's really important that Pedal Project takes responsibility for making their space feel more welcoming and safe for diverse folks. I felt so uncomfortable about the energy at the shop that I asked my partner to take the bike in instead because I thought he'd have more luck dealing with them — but he noticed the same things about the energy as I did and felt really ick about it too.
Cycling should be for everyone, not just if you are a lycra clad cis-male that already knows everything about bikes.

Prices are very reasonable. Went out of their way to adjust the bike rack so it fitted my existing car roof rack system. A++++++++++++++ service. Very cool bike shop ! Tell all your friends !!
