β β β β β Reading the recent reviews I can tell management and the staff have taken on all the feedback. I went in a couple of weeks ago and the service was amazing. We were a group of 4. There was someone at the door who showed us to our table almost immediately. Table service was constant and friendly. Our drinks always arrived promptly and cold. Food also arrived quick and they had everything on the menu except the oysters which they sold out of earlier. If I could I would probably rate this a 3.5 as I had high expectations for the food as it was good but not amazing. Also the bathroom was a bit of a mess. But overall a good experience with the girls.

β β β β β Great views from the restaurant, good food, delicious coffee and friendly staff. Only negative was that we were not allowed on the grass area. We had 3 kids with us and the main reason for picking Cable bay winery was for its outdoor setting but due to a few people making too much noise in the past they have restricted access to their beautiful open lawn to all :-(

β β β β β Overall, really let down. I came to cable Bay last year in around July and really loved the experience. I wish I could say the same for today. We made a booking that we arrived ten minutes early for, and weren't given water or even menus until around 20 minutes after we sat down. Even if we'd arrived on time, we still would've had to have waited far too long to even have a look at a menu or have a drink or wine on a hot summer's day.
It took 45 minutes after we arrived for our drinks and food order to be taken, and another 15 for our drinks to arrive. Meaning, we waited an hour before even having a glass of wine at a vineyard. Once the drinks arrived, they were delicious. The wines all went down a treat, though the beers my friends ordered didn't come out cold. By this point a table next to us that had arrived at the same time got up and left out of frustration.
As for the food, we initially ordered several pizzas for the table. However, we were informed that the pizza oven had been cooled down and pizza was no longer available. Seeing as this was in the middle of lunch service, I found this very strange. With no pizzas our options were limited; for the vegetarian of the table especially so.
Food arrived punctually, which was a relief. It was lovely and really well presented. A waiter also came over with two salads and some fried cauliflower which we hadn't ordered, seemingly lost. The food was given to us anyway, though it did feel quite awkward.
I'm sad to say I had a negative experience, seeing as the staff were friendly and even gave us a very generous 10% discount as well as the salads for free. With experience in hospitality, is clear to me that they are understaffed, which is a shame because the food, location and wine are all stellar.

β β β β β The Cable Bay Team hosted an AMAZING corporate Xmas party for Firefly Digital! From the wine tasting, special cocktails from the bar, fantastic food by the chefs that just kept rolling out, topped by exceptional service from the waitstaff. We had an amazing experience! Thanks Cable Bay Team!

β β β β β I came here as apart of the fullers hop on hop off Vinyard explorer pass.
The grounds, restaurant and atmosphere is beautiful.
I did however find it odd that all the tastings were done in the same wine glass. The other vineyards we have visited over the years have never reused the same glass for different wine tastings. It had been a long day and couldn't be bothered saying anything. It definitely stood out in a bad way, and everything just seemed more slack after that point.

Service was great, wine selection was good. Enjoyed ourselves. Forgot to take all the pic of the food.

β β β β β We went here for lunch on Boxing Day, 2021. On our way there, the taxi driver, who drove us there, bad mouthed this place, something terrible! So much so, that I was contemplating of changing our venue. He was heavily promoting another vineyard, not far from Cable Bay. Well, thank goodness, we didnβt make the change, because we had a great time. The food, service, the views, everything was spot on!
