β β β β β I haven't been able to get home in nearly 4years and i was so excited to be able to get to Cafe Express Waiouru again! And as desired my expectations were not only fulfilled but surpassed!! Thank you so much to this AMAZING family owned and operated gem for the constant stream of delicious Pizza and Pasta?? you can search this world for consistently good food but few can compare to the service and standard of cuisine offered here in little ole Waiouru!!?? if you haven't been GO and if you have then you know why i had to write a review ????? best wishes always and forever grateful Toia Keefe xx ps when i am home you will know ??

β β β β β When we entered the restaurant, the lady behind the counter was very nervous and stressed by the incessant orders she received on the phone.
The place is nice but a little dark. We ordered Margherita pizzas. Unfortunately, despite the wording "Italian food" on the outside, the pizzas didn't exactly look like those eaten in Italy.
The tomato sauce was coated - hidden - under a blanket of greasy, oily cheese (Colby or Cheddar type) which certainly wasn't mozzarella. Hurray for the cholesterol!
It is unfortunate to see people believe what that restaurant is offering is authentic Italian pizza.

β β β β β OMG - biggest fish & chip meal I've ever seen, 3 large pieces of fish & fresh as! I could only eat 1 plus half the chips.
Service was great with friendly staff. I would definitely recommend coming here.
Warm cosy restaurant with very reasonable prices.

β β β β β Small town pizza places are always either the worst pizzas I've ever had or among the best. Cafe Express is very good. Cheesy in all the right ways with good crust and sauce. I got the Funghi pizza which didn't have the best mushrooms I've ever had on a pizza, but they were good and tasted fresh. Highly recommended.

β β β β β Stopped here a few times now on our way through. Fantastic fresh burgers and very reasonably priced. Made even better by the fact they make their own patties. We had a hamburger with B's on and cheese. Absolutely delicious!!
The chocolate thickshake is also excellent!! Thanks guys!!
