★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a wonderful place to have some light lunch, a good cappuccino and a relaxing time to chatter! The Café Verde fully earned the five stars and maybe more for their beautiful garden settings. The cappuccino and turmeric latte - perfect and hot as preferred. The eggs Benedict with very delicious salmon and the fish pie tasted as good as they look. Their garden is amazing. Make sure to plan your lunch stop at Café Verde and enjoy this little paradise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hubby and I enjoyed brunch outside in the pretty garden at Cafe Verde in the autumn sunshine. The staff were all super happy, friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed my high country salmon, perfectly cooked, accompanied by a potato, spinach and feta frittata and tomato relish. The coffee was hot and had lots of flavour. I would have given 5 stars, except for the 2 minor issues my husband had with his meal: partially runny whites on his fried eggs, and a knife that wasn't sharp enough to cut the bacon. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cafe to all passing through this delightful town.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We dropped by Geraldine for a late lunch before we went on the inland scenic drive. This cafe has an amazing garden and we were lucky to be able to get a table under a gorgeous cherry blossom tree. We truly felt like we were having a Hanami in New Zealand. The food (Pork Belly Bun and corn fritters) were just lovely and the coffee was nice. We took our time and enjoyed our lunch in the garden.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered chicken pie, as it looked a sizable pie in cabinet, about 3 1/2 inches tall (I was reasonably hungry) only for a 1 1/2 inch pie to arrive with very small sprinkling of salad, told by waitress that it was only a "display pie" . Taste was lovely, but dissatisfied at a $10 pie expected, rather than a $5 size one I got. Still hungry. Nice food but deceptive cabinet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a hidden treasure! I ordered the Salmon Special - was cooked beautifully. My husband got their chicken and bacon pie- he shared a bite with me and it was one of the best pies I've ever had. The pastry was crispy and filled with bacon and chicken filling. We ordered the $12 platter for my 4 year old daughter and were amazed by the generous portion - sausage roll, ham sandwich, apples, grapes ( a little sad looking) and a caramel slice. Pleased she couldn't finish it so I ate the sausage roll and that was so good.
