About Cambridge Tree Trust
The Cambridge Tree Trust has picked up many top heritage and environment awards for the Trustpower Waipa Community Awards.
In 2011 we won the Supreme Award for work done on Lola Silcock Park, a 5-year project to convert a trash dump into a well-used park. The video below shows something of the work involved up to mid-2011, and the level of appreciation in the community that this park has.
Because we won the Supreme Award for Waipa District in 2011, we were in the final contest between all 23 local authority regions where TrustPower issues Community Awards. This final was held in Ashburton in March 2012, and the video below formed the bulk of our presentation there.
This year, 2016, we re-entered these awards. We won the Environmental section.
This was not so much for the Meadow Walk as for our general planting and maintenance work, which includes several other organisations. Some of them, especially the schools, feature in this website.
