Carpet Court - Carpet Court 26 Commerce Street

I wish we could post a positive experience to support local etc. But unfortunately our experience was painful every step of the way. We probably encountered every problem that was possible. Firstly, it took almost 3 weeks to get a quote (after the measure was done of our house). This was followed by another 2 week wait for answers to our questions about the quote (we had to call them to ask if they had received our email). Their quotes dont list out everything, it just gives the overall cost of the job. I would have expected a list of everything such as cost of the flooring, cost of the joins and underlay, labour costs etc, but no, they dont do this, even when asked. Once we agreed to the quote and paid our deposit, we were informed that we would now be responsible for removing skirting boards prior to our job being done, otherwise their installer wouldnt do the job (they had completed the same flooring install in our living areas only 7 months ago without needing this done, this would have been a huge additional cost to us!). After a call to the owner it turned out it wasnt a problem and the job was done as originally agreed upon. Communication was non-existent from Carpet Court once we paid our deposit, not even a call to confirm our install date prior to our install (we called the owner of Carpet Court ourselves to confirm date and skirting problem the day before our install since we hadnt heard anything). Had been told the install would take 3 days. First day they only spent 2 hours to pull out the old carpet, was obvious that it would then take more than the remaining 2 days to finish the install since they didnt do a full day of work the first day. Took them an extra day (had to camp out in our living room an extra night with 2 kids under 3) but wasnt too bad. Made a huge mess in our garage and throughout our house due to the cutting of the wood flooring install - could have closed the door to the house to avoid dust throughout the rest of the house (we flipped the bill for a cleaner). They then realised they hadnt ordered the joins to join the new wood flooring to the old carpet areas. Took an extra 3 weeks for them to arrive and be installed. Then another couple of days for them to come back to cut the carpet at the joins and put in place. 2 doors needed trimming to fit the joins - they asked if we could do this ourselves, we didnt have the tools and expected this to be part of the install so they came back to fix this slight problem the same afternoon. Overall the quality of the wood floor install is impeccable. But the process of getting there was more than painful and didnt leave us feeling enthusiastic about Carpet Court. Biggest advice for them is to improve their communication with customers, if they're busy, employ someone whose sole job it is to do the customer communication or job scheduling please.

A huge thank you to Lance, Brenda Lynn, Jacques and the layers. Great staff so friendly, Funny and helpful. My family and I were rather stressed with the whole insurance process and were waiting to get back into our house. These guys were so caring even after all my annoying calls they worked hard to get us back in as soon as possible. We are so grateful and could not recommend them enough. Thanks so much it's good to be home and we love our new carpet !!
