This is a local, had good experiences and they know who we are. dropped the ball we kept the drinks going, acknowledged their error but had no desire to smooth the issues. I asked for a few drinks (on the house) we had 4 + drinks each at this point. A simple no ! that's is not how hopso works you make a mistake you front it. I am Pretty Gutted, but 100% happy to work with the huge amount of local establishments that put customers first. That's hospo folk - you dropped the ball. We Paid the bill !!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered a burger from here and I wouldn’t even give it one star was definitely the worst burger I’ve ever ate. They put so much lettuce on it too they may as well of gave me the whole lettuce. Such a shame these small towns in the South Island rubbish food with high prices. Won’t be coming back there again! ?♂️

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went to the Carriers Arms last night for an evening meal and a beer.
After going to order our 3rd round of drinks we asked if the food would be much longer. At this point the staff found that our food order never reached the kitchen, so they rushed around to get our food ready. Our food arrived after waiting well over an hour. The chicken, cranberry and brie filo were tiny and had verry little chicken inside. The burger was average with only a few chips. It all felt rushed at the end, if I was not so hungry, I would have taken it back.
Come time to pay our bill we asked if our last drink would be 'complimentary' since supper was a sham. The response from Barry the landlord was a flat no, no complimentary drink, no discount or apology.
To add insult to injury - during our wait for food the kitchen staff were bringing out small plates of free food to two giggling teenage girls sitting at a table close to us. It feels like someone is watching the cents whilst the dollars just walk out the door.
We have eaten at the bar a few times, after last night will not be going back.
