About Central Kids Kindergarten Helen Downer
Central Kids has been providing high-quality, affordable early childhood education and care since 1951. We offer a child-led, learning through play philosophy that enables children to grow at their own pace – socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively (thinking creatively, problem solving, decision making).
Our team of highly qualified, experienced kaiako (teachers) understand the importance of surrounding your child with passionate, positive influences from an early age, and are truly invested in the future of your tamariki, as well as the wellbeing of your whole whΔnau.
All of our early childcare centres live and breathe te ao MΔori values, to connect our tamariki to our history and heritage. Te Reo is naturally woven into our everyday language and we authentically engage with local iwi and marae to expose our tamariki to customs and culture from an early age. It’s important to us that we celebrate diversity and create a culture of inclusiveness for a more connected community, inside and outside of our early childhood centres.

β β β β β Helen Downer kindergarten is the first kindy that I got in touch with in 2012 for my son Boran then after him my daughter Sila and now my youngest daughter Zehra she is there having her days with fun and learning for her first steps to start primary school next year and the staff there are always with happy faces and ready to help at anytime.

β β β β β The teachers care very much for our tamariki. I have recommended Central Kids Kindy to multiple friends and local parent groups because it's a truly special place. I love the multiculturalism, as well as the te rΔo resources.
I look forward to the original venue being fixed so staff and kids can have equal outdoor space again.

β β β β β My eldest son attended Helen Downer kindy from the age of 2 and thrived there. Our second child also started kindy at 2 years old, and has been loving his time there. He is almost ready to transition to school, and I am very glad to have a third child ready to start kindy soon after, as it has become such a big part of our family's lives. We all feel so welcome there! Thanks to the amazing staff at kindy, our children have been encouraged to follow their interests, learn independence and self-care skills, learn vital social skills, and of course, have loads of fun! We are so happy and grateful to have found such a wonderful place for our children's early education.

We have noticed a lot of changes in her personality and behavior. She has learned a lot of things, built and developed skills values and confidence in herself.The teachers are very helpful and friendly always guide and support them. β β β β β Helen downer Is such a great kindergarten. My daughter started when she was 2 and did all her kindy years there. Now my son has been there almost a year now. The staff are very professional, helpful, lovely and are always willing to help you with your child's needs.
They have helped me so much with my son, with his speech behavior. Always willing to help.
My children and myself absolutely love Helen downer.
I highly recommend this kindergarten :)
