We went to Charlestons for dinner last night. We were greeted with a smile and shown to our seats. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and curteous. The staff were also well presented which to us is important as you represent your surroundings. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was well cooked and produce was fresh and well presented on the plate. The price for our meals and drinks were reasonable. I recommend Charlestons for a lovely dining experience.

We hadn't booked a table, but we're seated upon arrival. Drinks were very slow to be served, but had to wait 1 hour 20 min after the order was placed to finally get our meals. Tables were not getting cleared after customers had left, the table next to us left 45 min before us and it still hadn't been cleared when we left. I had the lamb shanks and thankfully could not fault it. Well done to the chief. Just believe that 1 hour 20 was too long wait for the meal. I really want to get out and support the local hospitality businesses, but unfortunately my experience tonight was not favorable.

Great food and service. However there were a few niggles that are only making me give 3 stars. 1 - the menus were sticky and had ants on them. Obviously hadn't been wiped down properly. 2 - one of your servers didn't know how to wear a mask properly and it was constantly down over his chin and not his nose. 3 - While you have a wheelchair entrance - it is only useful if you can actually get into the establishment and out again. While we were able to get my daughter in a wheelchair in, we had to ask other patrons if they could make room so we could get out after we had finished as they had been seated blocking the way to the accessible exit. Overall a good experience. Food was absolutely delicious.

Top marks from me. Very accommodating for a large party of 7, including my daughter in her wheelchair (which we had specified when booking). The accessible entrance was open without us having to go in and ask, and there was plenty of space at the end of the table for her. The staff were very friendly, including one who came over to ask about my daughter's Heart Kids bear, and they were also really generous in serving the cake we had prepared for my parents' anniversary. The food was excellent, as it has been each time we've come (this is my third time since we moved into town last year) and the atmosphere was really nice.

Awesome family restaurant. Took kids 7 and 5 to celebrate my birthday. Friendly staff, meals came out quickly and everything was delicious. I had perfectly cooked thick eye fillet, lovely mash and veggies. Giant pile of ribs for hubby, and yummy burger and pasta for kids. Amazing desserts! Two between four of us was plenty! Oh and I was the first to try the mulled wine apparently and it didn't disappoint! Thanks for a great evening Charlestons, we will be back!

Amazing and frindly greeting as we came through at Reception to the young gentleman who looked after us at our table, who was also amazingly respectful and friendly. Top that all off with great sumptuous food. Pork ribs and pie with Trinity Hill Merlot....YUMMMMY!!! We will go there again ...oh...and again!?

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my 50th birthday at Charlestons Pukekohe and what an awesome experience it was! The food was excellent and the service was second to none. My birthday plan was a little last minute due to covid and a previous venue cancellation but after meeting with Lee (general manager) and deciding to go ahead and have my dinner party at Charlestons was the best decision. They were very accommodating, nothing was too hard and all my requests were met, from the decorating to the special drink I asked for. Lee communicated by phone and email regularly. Our space was completely private and separate from the restaurant, which was great as we could mingle, talk, laugh without bothering other diners. On arrival I ordered a tapas platter and jugs of sangria and beer which went down very well, the TV was available so my children could do a slide show of those fabulous life's moments without other restaurant patrons having a peek. I was a little concerned about food delays from the kitchen as we were a large group of 32 but the food flowed from the kitchen, even the owners, Terry and Janette popped in to lend a hand, they chatted to us and congradulated me, everyone had their food within reasonable time of ordering. The food was fantastic, everyone commented on the generous portion sizes! Lamb shank was cooked to perfection, fish and chips, steaks, ribs, chicken stuffed and schnitzel, pork belly, according to guests were all delicious and they will be back again. Not to mention the desserts! Again lovely portion sizes not just an "after dinner mint"! Best brownie I've had and I make a mean one, chocolate bomb and Pavlova "excellent"! If I have to mention the passion fruit topping on the Panna cotta was a little too tarte and toated coconut too hard, as I watched plates go back to the kitchen mostly empty except the Pad Thai, 2 of our guests are vegetarian, one said it wasn't great but they had other food as well so didn't go hungry, the other said it was ok, not the best they've had but Pad Thai can be a little unpredictable. Being a passionate "foodie" originally from South Africa and spending quite a bit of time in restaurants in various capacities, it is very rare to find that one restaurant that has it all - a superb location and setting, functionality and just great food. It has always been my view, that when owners have a presence and interest in their business, a good manager, friendly staff and servers, a kitchen with a visible cheerful vibe and chefs... yes, I spoke to them too, produce great food, you know you have a recipe for success. Pukekohe should be proud to have a restaurant of this calibre.
