★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrived just before 4 pm on the booked day. Hotel completely closed. Notice on office window displayed a contact cellphone number. Several calls to this number, with messages left on the answerphone as no one personally answered. However, I received no response back. Also called the office number, but didn't really expect an answer as this is a public holiday day. Consequently I left a message cancelling the booking.

BBQ pork ribs and the Chicken schnitzel. Very fair pricing for the size of the meal. Couldn't finish my ribs, which were delicious.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Didn't have to wait long for our meals even though they were busy ( Friday night). Restaurant felt clean and tidy and the atmosphere was lively.
Definitely recommend stopping in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Drove from Oamaru to Blenheim and on our way stopped at the Cheviot Trust Hotel for dinner. I was simply blown away by the size and quality of our meals. I have the large Pork roast and it was perfectly cooked with crackling and all the trimmings. My wife had the chicken and bacon ravioli which was equally delicious. Also her portion was more than she could eat. I very really am compelled to, but I was this meal and that was to walk to the kitchen and personally thank the chefs. We will definitely be back for a feed next time we pass through Cheviot. Thanks team, keep up the good work.
