He let me know in advance that he was going to be (very slightly) later than the agreed time, his cleaning method left not a speck of soot and he cheerfully explained the whole process to my fascinated children. He also talked me through what to watch for to look after our fire well.

It was our new woodburner's first clean and we especially appreciated the feedback that was freely given about how we've been burning the right wood in the right kind of way.
