★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tinted oil CD50 left run marks on my dressed cedar weather boards after it rained 2 weeks after application, now i have 15 ltrs of oil i wont be using, and i have now stripped those treated boards. Beware!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was exposed to several hours worth of incredibly intense fumes, as the exterior of the small office I work in was painted with CD50 Extreme. My immediate reaction was extreme nausea which lasted well after leaving the office, followed by other symptoms which have developed since. I sought medical attention, as did a co-worker who has been ill the past few weeks with the same symptoms she attributes to her use of this same product. Both sets of medical professionals took our situations very seriously. I contacted Churton Pacific to simply request they email a copy of the safety data sheet as I’d become ill. ‘Mike’ refused stating he had to cover himself and stated it wasn’t his product that made me sick. He also claimed to be the GM. Post medical testing/consultation I felt obligated to inform the company, ‘Mike’ again started laughing and telling me my boss was very angry with me for requesting the data sheet amongst other things. I asked for the name and contact details of the owners, he refused to give. Shortly after ‘John’ for some reason contacted my employer (not myself). I rang ‘John’ who was of the same caliber. He also refused to supply the name of the owner. I terminated the call. I am stunned by the careless, disgraceful, unprofessional attitudes in dealing with me. I post this as a warning to others using or exposed in any capacity, to this product. The safety sheet amongst much more states; fatal if inhaled, suspected of causing cancer if inhaled. The medical professionals I saw were most concerned about the copper content/exposure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great product and even better service. We’ve used CD50X for the last 5 years on island mahogany and couldn’t be more pleased. Sure, it has a strong odour when applying, which dissipates quickly. The temporary odour is not even close in comparison to other coatings ... polyurethane comes to mind!! Thanks Mike for a great product, great advice, and positive service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have recently used the CD50 x product on four pergola posts. The posts are 180x180 laminated pine. The product was extremely easy to use. The application was quick and simple. I did not experience any fumes. I used a colour tint which was easy to mix in with the oil. The colour effect is very evenly spread without any patchiness. Clean up was also a breeze. I cannot comment on the durability of the product but can confirm that I didnt detect any odor from the product. I did not use a mask or gloves. I will buy more to use on a new deck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have used CD50 on our houses in the last 20 years.
Have found this product to be the best for wood protection and ease of application.
In the last 2 years we have used it on our home which has macrocarpa weather boards, with cedar joinery and hard wood decks.
The previous owner had used a natural oil product for outside use on the cedar doors and windows so we bought this product but had to strip it all off a year later as mould was growing on timber and the timber was deteriorating!
We used CD50 Extreme clear after completely sanding back the cedar. That was 18 months ago and it looks like the day it was put on. Visitors always comment on the condition of our timber home and we are very proud of the look and protection we have achieved with the help of CD50.
If the instructions and cautions are followed to the letter, you will have no problems. Any timber preservative has chemicals in it and it is important that when using on the outside of a building, you open all the windows to allow fumes to be dispersed. We always apply oil when there is a breeze blowing which works well. We have found if the oil runs down the boards we have put too much on or not allowed enough time for the previous coat to be absorbed and we always check after oiling and wipe off any excess oil. ( should have read the instructions )
(note: I have sensitive skin and always wear protective gear and mask. I have not had any problems.)
Finally, we have always found this company to be very helpful and supply good service. We have no hesitation in recommending their products.
