Since our recent ownership, the managing team Kavit and Tejo, have been associated with the motor industry in various ways throughout their careers and are both qualified mechanic technicians and also NZTA qualified WOF inspectors. We pride ourselves on the best customer service and make our customers aware of what is happening with their vehicles so they have the confidence to make the best decision. Each client’s budget is kept in mind and we can also provide a regular maintenance programme as and when required.
Mairangi Automotive specialise in automotive car repairs throughout Auckland’s North Shore. Our WOF and vehicle servicing workshop is located in Albany and we have regular customers throughout Manukau, Albany, the North Shore and wider Auckland.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to their shop last June for a service and they noted me with "spark plugs due next service", so I went back 6 months later, 22-December, and told them that my spark plugs are due.
Told me they will call me for a quote if anything is needed to be replaced or repaired so I left my car with them.
Didn't received any call so when I pick up my car and ask them if everything is okay, they said everything is okay and will just email me the invoice and report. Report still says "spark plugs due next service" but said everything is okay.
Then 2 days later in the middle of our trip, 24-December, check engine light in my dashboard is blinking. I had to find a local mechanic since all shops are closed. Found out that my engine is misfiring and 1 ignition coil went bad due to bad spark plugs. It ruined our holiday trip, will not be going back to them again.

They said service will have approx $80 extra surcharge as my car requires a full synthetic oil and a better oil filter that they generally put in the car. I had the service today and after returning home what I can see is, they put universe oil filter which is available in $6 online. It is also leaking (have cleaned it for now and will have to monitor) and I may need to go back again to get this fixed. I am not happy and do not feel confident that if they checked all the other things they mentioned over the phone. The invoice does not say anything about filter and oil changed. He said on asking they have put penrite 5w20. They charged me fixed $80 on top of the $99 coupon. I think I could have taken my car to oil changers and get the same thing done in a very less price.

Lovely service, honest prices, and the check they did for possible overheating was free and the advice they gave was great. Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing service and WOF by the team, all done and passed in 1.5 hours. Very friendly team and they have windshield wipers for about $15 if you want them replaced for you. Really did a good job and they let you know things to keep an eye on like tire tread and brakes. Well worth paying a bit more to go to a great place like this if you love your car like I do ;) .
