★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely disappointed with the service and won’t rent any car from them in the future.
The car was changed few hours prior to my booking due to someone else damaged the previous car, and although I was promised to not be charged higher than I was supposed to pay for the car I booked for, they still invoiced me for the higher price. When I enquired with them, they promised they have credited the price difference, but that credit can only be used in future bookings, and only through a phone call. Otherwise, the credit wouldn’t work. This is not ideal at all, as I am unable to see the credit amount on my account, and it is a bit of a hassle to call someone for a booking when I can just do it online.
I explicitly mentioned I would be hiring the car for a driving test, and as a car share agency, I would expect them to ensure the car was fit to drive on the road. However, the car’s displayed rego was expired. This has caused me instant failure, and I needed to re-print the rego on my own, using MY own money at VTNZ. They claimed they have refunded the amount but it still hasn’t shown up on my bank account. Apart from not offering any compensation for causing me to fail my driving test, and the impact of their negligence on me, their credit system is also such a mess.
Thank you, Cityhop, for gifting me my worst Christmas ever.
