★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have eaten my fair share of pies in my life. This place without a shadow of a doubt makes the best pastry I've ever tasted in a pie. The pastry was incredibly crispy, flakey and buttery. The paua and gravy were exactly the right temperature; not to hot, not too cold. The flavour was outstanding and my life is richer for having tasted this work of art. An absolute must visit for anyone in the North

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought real strawberry ice-cream which tasted yummy. The staff was super friendly and the service was great. There was a covered outside seating area which was convenient as it was a hot day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Returning from Cape Reinga we stopped in for a recommended Paua pie at the Container Café. Wow we weren’t disappointed. If I’m ever back up that way I will definitely be stopping in for another.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great stop on the way to/from Cape Reinga lighthouse. The pies were delicious (tried the mince and cheese, paua and butter chicken) - definitely can taste the difference compared to the pies sold by chain cafes in Auckland. The ice cream is great too.
