β β β β β Rip off prices and the management clearly don't give a stuff about customers because there is little competition. Only ONE checkout staffed while the other two had closed signs on while I counted SIX people near the service desk chatting doing nothing. And this is a busy Sunday at midday.!

β β β β β Worst online experience ever. I thought Click&Collect was set up to help avoid Covid spread, but this Countdown has made it impossible to shop safely. I had Covid, so did a once-off online shop. I called the store beforehand to check pickup was still valid (told them I was Covid-positive) and to ask if a cough syrup I needed was in stock - yes to both. But when I arrived at the Click&Collect zone, I found it boarded over and inaccessible, with no signage or info, and no staff on hand to assist. Had to send my sister (who lives with me and is also isolating) inside the store, were she waited 10-15mins while a total of 4 different staff came and went, unable to help her source the one item I desperately needed - Irish Moss cough syrup. It is not a prescription med, and this matters because, despite my pre-shopping enquiry, and despite following Customer Service's instructions to write this item in our checkout note, staff had not placed it in our cart. They stated it's a pharmacy item and has to be bought direct from the instore pharmacy (this is not what they said on the phone, esp when I explained I can't go instore due to Covid). After endless waiting, they sent my sister to the instore pharmacy. Staff there showed her the Irish Moss was available on the generic shelves, OUTSIDE the pharmacy, as we knew it would be. She then went back and checked it out at the supermarket tills, NOT at the pharmacy. There was no need for us to potentially put others at risk, and to put our own health at risk (I was waiting outside, coughing and unwell), or to send us chasing after an item that was not even part of the pharmacy. Please sort out your Click&Collect system, your internal comms, and your Customer Service information, to avoid making Covid patients suffer even more and to prevent unnecessary risk.

β β β β β Completely disappointed with countdown browns bay
Today I happened to drop by to grab some banana blueberry bread, as I checked for the expiry date and everything was looking good from outside the box, also these boxes are covered with huge labels that you barely see through the box to check if itβs good or bad. There is small part of my fault for not checking it properly because I trusted the expiry date.
I came home to see that this banana bread already had mould growing on it. I feel itβs been ignored by the management to run through basic checks.
I can understand that there is always room for mistake but if your handling food you are accountable for consumers trust, we trust you and your brand, you should be extra cautions with food safety. This review and one star rating is not to point out mistakes but to let everyone know that your accountable the choices you make, please do check the food and specially baked goods you buy from anywhere. My humble request to management is that please make sure this does not happen again and you ensure us that this wonβt happen again.
