★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Large, well lit, and laid out with a pharmacy right in the middle so nothing to knock. Good sized wine and beer aisles too and wide aisles overall. Self checkout and regular tellers available as expected.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to do my weekly shop yesterday, staff rude, got in the way while stacking shelves and didn't let customers pass. 2 of the items were marked on shelves as on special but checking receipt (which I'd never done prior to yesterday) apples came up as 5.50 not 3.50, and popcorn 2.00 not 1.00 as marked. Doesn't sound like alot but price of groceries as it is doesn't help. Will ring them

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have stopped shopping here, they are sneaky, underhanded and the prices now are a rip off and a joke. Pack up and go back to Aussie, give me New World any day and anyone who thinks they are soo wonderful needs their Head Read and must have to much money to throw around. Most staff are nice but bet they haven’t had a pay rise even though they are doubling up their prices. Shame on You Countdown.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff always friendly especially at the entrance. No long waits at the self checkout even at peak times (the que can be long but it moves fast), only down side is they are often out of stock but I think that's just the times we live in with covid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Usually I find Countdown very pleasant and online shopping very good. But today at Dunedin Central I was very frustrated by the number of items I was looking at to purchase did not have the prices shown on the shelf. A number of them were labeled as there but just with " great value" in a bubble. So no way to compare this price with others. One large Cereal box I had seen online as on special didn't even have a price shown on shelf. So I had items at checkout that I wanted a price on before buying. 2 got returned.
Please get your prices displayed Countdown.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's your average supermarket but with the added bonus of a well equipped, fast pharmacy. Where Countdown Dunedin Central loses points is the condition of the store and the atmosphere. It feels dark and dingy in most areas of the store. Could do with new flooring, better and brighter lights, and new checkout area. I felt glad my food was packaged when going through the self checkout as the machines looked run down and gross. Friendly enough staff that have been through a lot so a few renovations would definitely liven the place up and make it a more enjoyable store.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very organise local countdown. Fresh mussels but scoop is a bit too large to use maybe tong is better. Mum and me love the Apple Turnover from the bakery ❤ must try if you can. Well stock, great option for clicking collect customer: I placed my clicking collect order midnight from Auckland on the Sunday , arrived next day Monday afternoon pick up, order are all correct. Thank you team.
