★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Why does Countdown have only two checkouts open..queues with people buying trolley loads..
They say it is because social distancing..but the queues aren't social distancing.
They want us in and out of the store quickly...open up all checkouts..get more staff and be accountable to your customers..
They will turn away in droves and go to Greymouth New World ..
I will never shop there again..come on...Countdown..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I tried on-line shopping with pick-up at Countdown Greymouth. I went for a lengthy pick-up period as I felt some of the items might not be in stock and after an initial flurry of acknowledgements - nothing. Today is the scheduled pick-up at 2:30pm. It being a rainy day - I decided to ring the store to ensure that my order was ready. No one answered the phone. This is first-and-last time I use their on-line ordering service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I want to thank the staff member who returned my purse with all my cards and cash in it to the Greymouth police. I shopped here during our travels in the campervan and must have left it on the counter. Thank you ao much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I must say that I was very pleased with the way I was treated and spoken to, by various staff this morning. The first was the young lady in the Produce Dept. I was looking for oranges and without hesitation she went out back and had a young man bring some more oranges in. The oranges were from Israel ( I think) and they were beautiful. My 2nd complement is for the young man who served me at the checkout. He spoke so nicely. I only had 2 bags of groceries plus a dozen eggs. When I had paid, he stepped out and put my groceries in my trolley, which I noticed he did with several other customers. Well done Countdown

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great supermarket!! It has lovely staff and great prices in this economic climate with the cost of living increases.. The supermarket layout itself is easy to get what you are looking for. Highly recommended by us as a family..
