★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think I've just had the best shopping experience I've had in Wellington. Matt on the counter at the Lampton Quay Store was just great. Helpful and informative without being pushy. He informed me of the offers that I could utilise and did it in a friendly way. I will definitely be going back to that store.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought a suit. OK service. Two trips to collect. First: not ready (although they said it would be by then). Second: waiting for service while staff chat and preen. Try suit on (tailored). A few loose threads on sleeve. Young staffer cuts it off and assures me "it's nothing to worry about" (I'm not assured, but 'they know best'..?). No suit bag (picky, but they said they'd provide one and I wont have a chance to hang it up for several hours - so creases..). All in all, dissappointing experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My nearly teenage grandaughter from Taupo wanted, like her sisters, to purchase one of their roll bags for her birthday present. There's no Country Road in Taupo so it's a Wellington treat when they come.
The service we recieved was again rubbish. No eye contact or hello greeting from staff as we entered (or were in the shop), or even when we were purchasing! Seriously, how hard is it to use eye contact when conversing with a customer? Showing an interest in the customer & saying something other than 'can I help you?' would be a great start for customers who do not usually visit this high end store.
The shop also sells men's & women's clothes, hats & accessories at the expensive end of prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For an iconic store, they may want to revisit staff training regarding customer service. I was in there around 5pm on a Thursday evening, an hour before closing. Six staff were working and none of them acknowledged me, to the point that they deliberately avoided eye contact. All of them were too busy either standing behind the till or tidying racks. No-one seemed to have been tasked with looking after the customers.
Even when carrying around four dresses, there continued to be no acknowledgement of my presence. No help either getting to the fitting room, nor when I was in the fitting room. I wanted to purchase one of the items, but with the service being so appalling I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
In contrast I went into another store down the road and was greeted warmly by every single staff member.
Lift your game Country Road Lambton Quay.

He offered a number of great suggestions and talked me through the deals and benefits of shopping with Country Road. Happy as Larry with my new bag and now a new member with Country Road too.
