Hi Folks….a bit about myself….I like to kayak and jog, and am a joyful but less than talented singer.
I am passionate about families. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a niece, and an aunty. I have experienced the ups and downs of thirty-three years of married life. There are now significantly more ups than downs J. I have six wonderful children, and one grand-daughter. I am extremely conscious that my family experience played a huge role in my levels of happiness. I found that sometimes inviting a fresh perspective from outside of my relationships helped me notice the things I valued about my relationships. It also helped me see a clearer path to reach what I hoped for in my relationships.
My life experience and training as a counsellor has shown me the long-term value of supporting people in the context of their relationships.
I have learned that making ‘family’ a priority by learning to resolve conflict, communicate positively, share power, and manage sensitive feelings, has brought greater unity and happiness to my relationships.
Experience
I have been working with individuals, couples, and families at Barnardos over the last few years. Prior to working at Barnardos, I was involved with Birthright, and Lifeline. I am a therapist for LDS Family Services. I lead an addiction recovery group. I have worked through a wide range of issues with people.
My life has been changed by the courage I have witnessed as people recognise their hope for a better life, and choose change.
I hold a Bachelor of Applied Social Science, Counselling Degree. I am a Provisional Member of NZAC.

After all, I've been married to Jenny for 30 years and seen her carefully shape our marriage into something wonderful, exciting and lasting. That Jenny has a lasting relationship speaks volumes for her, even though I know it takes two to make marriage flourish and endure. Jenny knows we can choose to fall in love again and again with the same person.
Jenny is a great person when you need a second set on eyes on your relationship. She provides the perspective that's essential to move forward - and hopefully, together.
We all face challenges in our lives. It hasn't always been this smooth for us. It took a lot of shaping in our relationship. Jenny at Courage is dedicated to helping you shape your relationship, regardless of the issue, or the size of the issue. She understands that relationships are not all easy and she knows how to address the unhelpful history that can destroy what started out as a great, loving relationship. She will find a path forward for you. But then she has studied counselling for five years and qualified as a bright practitioner. Also she has worked with countless couples and families.
I believe Jenny can help you build strong relationships to help you get through. After all, she's done this for me for 30 years of marriage. Plus I think she's cool.
