★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently organised and went out with our group of 8 on a charter with Dr Hook and I couldn't be happier! We had a great time, caught a tonne of fish and it would be the best charter experience I've ever had. And I don't say that lightly. I had overseas guests to entertain and it was really important I showed them a good time out on the water. So I felt pressured to make a good choice with the boat and the cheap and nasty end of the market didn't appeal. Some of the group weren't experienced either and I was nervous because other charters we'd done in the past had been pretty basic. Well the boat was luxury compared to others we'd been on. Roomy, and well looked after. We all took the boat, bait and rod option and I'm pleased we did because it made things so much easier and great value. There was a tonne of bait and Bruce was there to take fish off the hook if anyone needed it and sort out any tackle issues. All in all it was my best day out on the water in NZ and my overseas guests has a brilliant time enjoying the best of Kiwi hospitality. I couldn't be happier and will use Dr Hook again in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The skipper was great, pushed us to do well and gave us a hand when needed. Had good bait ready and loaded then did over time to help us get more. We capped over 90 fish minimum what a great day it was. Highly recommended, cow with a gun will be back for more!

Bruce and crew were absolutely brilliant! The booking process was a breeze, they offered rod and baits at a reasonable fees. The charters were well equipped, clean and tidy even for the toilet!
These guys provided useful fishing tips throughout the day, importantly, they know all the good fishing spots from their experience. Each of us went home with a full chillie bin of catches. Lots of laughters and heaps of fun! Definitely worth it and will be bringing another group soon Bruce!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the pleasure of booking Dr.Hook for a full day fishing trip for 10 of us. Bruce was great to deal with. We had a good day on the water with Bruce locating the BIG fish all day. The boat was clean and had plenty of room . If you're looking for a Auckland fishing charter then Doctor Hook and Bruce should go to the top of your list.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a wonderful day out with Bruce and Evan for our annual fishing competition. The whole team went home with bins full of fish and lots of happy memories of the day. The boat is spacious and well equipped for a fishing charter. We will absolutely book another charter with Dr Hook!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing experience and you immediately feel relaxed and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Everything was really well organised and the captain and his crew were really nice and friendly. The captain knew exactly where the fish were and within 2 hours had caught our quota of fish!! The boat was roomy and covered which made the experience even better and more comfortable.

As much as Bruce ran a tight ship, he was easy going and could joke around with him like one of the boys.
The boat was perfect for the 12 of us with still plenty of space to move around.
We left at 7am and was making our way back at 12pm after getting our quota early.
Another bonus was one of the guys first time out fishing caught a decent size kingi which was one of the highlights of the day.
I think Dr hook is the charter for me from now on
We will definitely be back again.
