★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We adopted one of our dogs from here. The staff were so friendly and seemed to really care for the dogs. Would never stress if one of my dogs got picked up as I know they would be cared for.

The dogs in poor condition or overtly aggressive are on display to the public whereas the quality dogs get siphoned off to Dogwatch right next door ,that's if the employees haven't snared these dogs for themselves or friends & family members. Getting information about a certain dogs attributes is like pulling teeth whilst the operators of Dogwatch are free to mingle amongst the dogs anytime they want - I suspect after hours as well. There are also other dogs out the back which you can see and hear but are never discussed . This place needs an audit on who is benefitting from a rate payers funded department.
Also note Dogwatch (right next door) which sells ex dog pound dogs for typically $330 ,is open to the public for 3 hours on both a Saturday and Sunday whereas the pound itself is restricted to opening only 2 hours on the Saturday. This is telling me something.

“I’ll put you through to leave a message and someone will call you back ASAP” a phone call every 40 minutes, message after message to find out that there is in fact NO ONE THERE CHECKING THE MESSAGES!
My details were passed onto the officer to contact me to return my fur baby but he just ignored it for 3 hours and went off duty! That’s great!
I am wanting to get my animal back, surely you would accomodate that not hinder it.... absolutely useless! You need to get better systems in place for owners to retrieve their lost pets efficiently.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful staff. Very helpful and dedicated to reuniting friends and rehoming abandoned puppies.
I'm relieved this level of service exists in our little town, my furry friend could have ended up in a much worse situation if he hadn't been found by the good people of the animal center.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great team, working hard to care for dogs out wandering. Doing the best they can to get them home or if that is not possible then rehomed to a caring family. Those that need a little bit of work are moved to another shelter for rehoming later.
