★ ★ ★ ★ ★ New to 30 year old native plantings with a lovely winding path. Look forward to seeing this reserve mature. Hope one day to be deafened by native birdsong! Would be even better if everybody picked up after their dogs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Doebel is a wonderful parkland with beautiful shade in the summer and wonderful Autumn ? and fun small hills for children to play. Great picnic spot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gorgeous autumn colours. Tracks from memorial seat would benefit from being maintained and more clearly defined. I skipped on wet grass and broke my leg. Owch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent venue for practice hike with a bonus view! but limited track. They need to be connected to the regional tracks that link Te Mata peak otherwise ill just be crossing private land to get there.. THERE ARE FRICKEN RABBITS BREEDING like wildfire all over the hills! , the council need to get on that with a regional plan. They're all over these hills for miles its becoming an epidemic in itself. These rabbits are a pest and ruin our paddocks and generally overtake the whole ecosystem. COME ON HBR COUNCIL! TAKE A LOOK WHATS HAPPENING IN OUR OWN BACKYARD!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The two Taradale Rotary Clubs who have planted and maintained the native plantings over the past 15 or so years should be proud if what they have achieved. And they continue with new native plantings each year. Lovely and numerous tracks with great views of Napier Hastings and the plains.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Right now à wonderful blaze of autumn colour. A small beautifully cared for & maintained park by volunteer team. Supurb spot for high views over the Napier taradale area. Also very relaxing on the low level for rest & recuperation, therefore most accessible for all levels of fitness.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easy short walks through a mix of native bush and grasses. Native plantings will mean this park gets better over time. Has a secret gem of out a hill that can be sold down on old cardboard boxes. Boxes are provided in a large recycle bin at the bottom.
