Antonio has created an incredible space, the house, the views and the amenities are phenomenal..but the best part of the stay was Amelia! She is an natural host who took exceptional care of us and made the stay extra special. Can't wait to go back

The view and location was outstanding with a quick walk down to the beach. We even got transfers to Russel and back for dinner. This was a weekend to remember and we will be back.

The lodge is simply stunning and words won't do justice to the beauty, scale, art, and the views. It is just perfect, and somehow combines the luxury and grace of all the design and art with a feeling of simply being 'at home' Amelia, Brooke, Rosa, and Tracey, thank you for looking after us so well, for making amazing breakfasts for us, driving us in the Rolls Royce to dinner, for every little thing you did for us that we may, or may have not seen, you were wonderful, happy, attentive hosts. This was a 50th birthday celebration for my wife, and we will never forget the experience of being looked after by the team at Donkey Bay Inn. It is a magical place. I guess the ultimate question is always, 'would you go back' the answer is yes. We booked for August before we left. Thanks DBI - we will see you all soon.

Best place I've ever stayed. luxurious boutique accommodation for a maximum of 4 couples, with views that are breathtaking. The owner Antonio and manager Amelia are fantastic hosts, we felt like we were staying with life long friends. Highly recommend for some time out. You will struggle to find better.

From the moment you park up and head into the property you will notice how incredible the architecture and exterior/interior design is. It is nothing like I have seen before. Antonio (the Italian owner) really has an eye for design and has put a lot of love into this property. We stayed in the Emperors suite and it had a great flow to it. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay. Breakfast is served overlooking the bay and a great way to start the day. There was a big variety foods such as fruits, cereals, eggs, avo, antipastos, spreads, juices, teas and coffee so you really were spoilt for choice. Antonio joined us for breakfast both mornings and he is just so sweet! It makes a different staying somewhere where you can connect with the host and get to know them and the property. There is a big history and heartwarming story behind this spot. There is plenty to do here- Walk down to donkey bay whilst checking out the sculptures and crystals Antonio has collected, have a sauna or bath over looking the beach, grab a book from the library and relax in the seated areas, or head into town for some yum food! Donkey Bay also offer a Rolls Royce to dinner as apart of the stay. Talk about royalty! I couldn't imagine anywhere else to spend my birthday. Cannot wait to come back, thank you girls & Antonio xx
L	Lea Verna on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Donkey Bay Inn is a private secluded home away from home. Each of the 4 luxury guest rooms have balconies looking out onto Donkey Bay and the private naturalist beach. The resort showcases amazing, bright artwork and furniture and each room is decorated with its own unique pieces. It's perfectly situated just 5 minutes from Russell Town Centre, rich in history, featuring New Zealand's oldest operating restaurant. Included in your stay at Donkey Bay Inn is a vintage Rolls Royce with driver for your transfers to and from dinner in town. The heated floors in the main dining, living area are a lovely touch on crisp mornings while you enjoy your coffee and delicious breakfast prepared by your hosts. Everyone is so kind, courteous, welcoming and helpful with any questions about the property, town and its surroundings. It truly was one of the most magical places I have ever stayed at and I will be back again to soak in the spa perched on the cliff edge!

Definitely a visual gorge. The staff are attentive and caring. The owners personal touch is everywhere. There place has a calm quietness about it. Very relaxing! My wife and I enjoyed good vibes.
J	Jack Aubrey on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dear Donkey Bay Inn First of all I should qualify this review by saying I have drunk quite a reasonable amount of your fabulous Penny Rose Rose. Personally I feel it has clarified my thoughts. We decided to come to stay with you because of the yellow tunnel. And also because of the bath in the suite we didn't stay in. But we have booked to come back because we had the most extraordinary time. There was nothing to find fault with. The place is extraordinary (should I register just a bit of disappointment that the Pizza Oven isn't in service?...) The staff were a perfect mix of friendly, helpful and sassy. I made our own tea and raided the fridge for ice without any frowning. Fellow guests were delightful. And the beach is a Naturist beach! Such delicious potential for Summer...Russell was delightful. Altogether a perfect get away and definitely one which will be repeated.
