A fantastic walk! I would recomend walking up the steep track, as I would not dear to walk down it! There iant much signage - follow the orange arrows.

Wet foot track was amazing. Bring shoes for walking through Creek. Kids need to be able to cross some creeks so wouldn't bring kids under 5.

Affordable and quiet place to stay overnight. Cash only and rangers do come every night to check so don’t risk it! No showers or kitchen and washing up facilities is literally just a cold running tap. Two unisex bathrooms.

The waterfall path is really good. It follows a creek that you will have to pass several times. It is really recommend to wear good footwear since most of the path is mostly going over the creek on small self-made bridges made of rocks or going improvised paths along the creek. But the way is definitely worth it since you will get some nice photographs. The campsite is also quite good. It provides everything you need besides a shower. There are also other hikign trails starting at this point but be careful since most of these trails start very steep. I've walked parts of the red and black trail starting from the dry creek entrance but sadly the view wasn't very good. Despite that is was a good exercise.

Visited here few days ago...beautiful quiet area and nice trekking for water fall. The toilet was big and clean..and just 23min to Wellington city....also...Even I asked a lot about address and details through messages, the ranger answered very kindly and quickly even he was away...Thank you?

Great track. Best with waterproof boots as you cross the creek multiple times and the rocks can get slippery. Cool little waterfall at the end of the track - worthy of a dip on a hot day.

What a lovely spot to picnic, or go for a walk or camp. Toilets and drinking water on-site, please take your rubbish away. There are plenty of spots to stay. Quiet beautiful views. Camping is $8 per adult $4 per child, cash only, no EFTPOS or internet banking. Iron Maiden in 2 sites. Gates are closed at night in winter at 6 pm, summer at 10 pm, you're allowed to stay 40 days in 12 month period only, run by the regional council.

Amazing place to camp... Silent and lots of space to park your car, camper van etc etc... Cheap as well $8 for adults and you gotta pay in cash(no EFTPOS or internet Banking) in the envelope provided and deposit it in the honesty box. And there is a waterfall right behind the campgrounds.
