Some steps to a waterfall, not suitable for elderly. But easy walking trails for all ages too.
Lawns for picnic on a blanket or table and benches for a sit down.

There are many years of toil in the area and their lives are relived in panels on the walls that tell their story in the Hutt Valley.
The walks are easy with a large grass area to relax and lunch.
Good to see no rubbish on the walks. Well done NZ!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a fantastic place to visit, perfect for young and old. Bring your packet lunch and have a picnic on one of the many tables dotted around. There's plenty of shade to help on even the hottest of days. We'll be returning again pretty soon - loved it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a choice place. Plenty of nicely paved paths for easy walking but also some nice rough tracks up to and behind the waterfall. And an excellent native alpine plant collection, insane variety!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Water fall track is only 20 mins return ( slightly steep at places) . Has a beautiful duck pond and picnic area. Such a beautiful place .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place on a summers day to head over for a picnic or a walk through the bush. The waterfall is about a 10min walk from the entrance toilets and really nice.

Picnic area on Vast Lawn with heaps of shade
Ideal family place close to Porirua, Wellington,Lower Hutt etc
Moderate walk to Waterfall (stairs included) not ideal for buggies
