Earth Gardens empowers people living with mental illness or a disability to maximise their recovery and life opportunities, thus easing the transition back into the community.
Originally established at Otatara in Taradale, it moved to Wharerangi Road, Greenmeadows in 1985 where it remained until January 1999. In January 1999 Earth Gardens relocated to new premises in Sandy Road, Meeanee.
Earth Gardens receives funding from the Ministry of Social Development.
Our vision: "To be a successful Vocational Training environment for Hawke's Bay people living with a disability."
The Earth Gardens Trust has the role of governance. The manager and staff work as facilitators in the areas of Vocational training, Garden, Maintenance and Hospitality. Volunteers also contribute to the programme at Earth Gardens.
