About Eden Early Learning Centre

We endeavour to provide children with a rich curriculum that fosters their identity as a successful learner. The learning environment provides opportunities for children to learn through play within an enjoyable and fun atmosphere. Risk taking and exploration are actively encouraged.

Professional and trusting relationships are nurtured between teacher’s children and their families. Teachers are attuned to children’s cues and respond appropriately. We strive to work in partnership with whānau to ensure parent’s aspirations for their child’s on-going learning are met.

Respect for self, others and the environment is modelled at all times. Inquiry based learning is encouraged where children can explore and develop the skills and knowledge to be a critical thinker. Teachers recognise a child’s interest and use this as a catalyst for supporting children to develop learning dispositions along with new skills and knowledge.

Social competence is a key focus within the curriculum and promoting independence and self-help skills forms the foundation for preparing children to become life-long learners. Children are supported to take responsibility for their own learning and are encouraged to share it with those around them.

We value inclusiveness and understanding and accepting all differing cultures and beliefs. Commitment to the bi-cultural partnership inherent in Aotearoa New Zealand is evident in all aspects of our practice.

We love Little Wonders for our little boy - friendly staff, healthy food, great outside area, and good curriculum

A great, caring team. The kids all appear to be having a terric time when I come in. Delighted to see the various 'learning tasks' being a constant presense.

We couldn't have asked for a more caring & learning environment for both of our children. Without doubt, one of the best child care centres around.

From home to home, excellent care in a loving and supporting environment. Our children have made great friends with other kids attending as well as their carers.

On the plus side we loved the staff in the class rooms here - they were kind, caring and engaged. The Pukeko and Kea rooms were lovely and sunny. On the negative side we felt the office and management made no effort to build a relationship with the families of children. Over three years we received one book of what our child did during his time there while many of my friends children received daily online updates on their kids at other centers. On the two occasions that we complained about something the management response was dismissive at best. The Tui room is also very cold over winter and doesn't get much sun, so we had more than the average bouts of colds that have gone since leaving. The teachers in this room were often in puffer jackets.

Little Wonders Landscape Rd is an excellent daycare centre - we could not have asked for better. Both of our boys (Jack and Finn) attended Little Wonders from a very young age. Right from the start they were offered an extremely caring and nurturing environment by the friendly and knowledgable team of teachers. As the boys grew, they were offered more and more learning opportunities. Would particularly like to mention of the excellent Transition To School program for 4 year olds. This is a great program that covers literacy, numeracy and the different school routines. Jack was well prepped to commence primary school and it shows with how well he settled in and how quickly he has progressed through the initial reading levels at school. We are only leaving now as Jack has started school and we have moved out of the area. Highly recommend this centre - it is fantastic.

Our daughter Ivy LOVES her time at Little Wonders with Julie + the rest of the amazing teachers in her room. She's growing up so fast + learning quickly, we're sure it's largely due to the interaction, developing little friendships + 'learning through play' that she's exposed to. She's always happy when we scoop her up at the end of her day + we know she's in very safe + caring hands.

Both my daughters went to Little Wonders on Landscape Road part time before going to Kindergarten. I feel very lucky to have come across this fine establishment years ago. The staff, building and grounds are top notch. It has such a lovely feel and I couldn't have been happier with the care, attention and education that my girls received. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone I know with little ones.
