★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This used to be everyone’s go to takeaway back in the day. I haven’t been there for over 20 years (now live overseas or I’d be a regular) but remember it with such fond memories. George was the best and the food was amazing. After school potato fritters, bring em on! I tell stories of this place often when trying to explain Kiwi ? n ? shops to people in Holland. Keep on keeping on George ??
Wanted to update that my brother and I got to visit the legend last year. Was amazing to see George again and devour his fantastic food!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I re visited edgewater takeaways not knowing the original owner has passed on. I proceeded to purchase some fish n chips as a bit of nostalgia. All I can say is that memory is brutally gone. This was the eorst fish n chips ive 3ver yad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After reading good reviews thought we'd try. Bad move. Chips were ok. Cheap scallops. Hoki was bad tasting and the batter was thick and half raw. Disgusting.
Also suspect now some of the good reviews were fake due to mentioning talking to George. Hard thing to do when he had sadly passed by the date of the review.( no direspect intended)
Waste of money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4th Jan 2022 *most these good reviews are directed at the old owner who sadly passed away. The new owner needs a reality check. The first time we went here it smelled like a full sanitary bin ??? thought I'd give them another chance and purchased food today. So very disappointed due to undercooked hot dogs, bland fish with sweet batter?!?! chips are crunchy but also unsalted. Nice try adding lemon though ?
*half the food was left untouched, this is new for my household??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Feb 2022: Tried them again with the new owners that were learning the ropes and it was great! Huge improvement from the first time. Classic basic fish and chips. We got the terakhi and fish of the day (that was very thick and size of my hand). A decent piece of fish. Give them a try and support them. They also take eftpos ?. They are our regular Friday dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ the best takeaway ever in Pakuranga, onion ring lovers, highly recommend, crispy batter with big juice perfect around onion in the middle, not broken one, not oily at ALL。chicken SCHNITZEL, super duper tender juice, bite with bread crumble, OMG.make your world turn to better. (I recommend onion ring, chicken SCHNITZEL, deluxe hot dog, poppers mushroom and kidz lover batter banana) sorry food is too good, can't wait to eat, photo are little slight over
