Who We Are

“To reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus that they might become fully devoted followers of Christ.”

Our statement of purpose is based on two teachings of Jesus:

Matthew 22:36-40 - Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Mark 16:15-17, 20 - He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe…” Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

I attended a women's conference here. There were great speakers, wonderful worship and it was very inspiring. Being in my 60s with hearing loss though, I was very conscious that the volume was seriously out of the park loud. I find that less is more, and reflective quietness and softness is more inducive to connection with the Holy Spirit and healing of our hearts, minds n bodies. God bless.

I'm sorry but as a church that says they care for their community this is a bit wrong when the leaders of an invercargill church for Elim test positive for covid this Wednesday to go on to say that one of theme is leading this Sundays service is not only irresponsible but totally negligent and illegal. This is putting anyone attending at risk of infection, this is not a church I could ever support again
