★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm quite disappointed with the telephone responses of ENCORE.
I called the store today just to get more details about recycling my clothes.
POOR ATTITUDE OF WORKERS
First of all the woman who picked was so rude and she banged the phone at me. When i called again she said she thought I'm a sales person from a web site company.
I feel the store should hire more professional workers with at least proper telephone etiquette.
Then I asked her whether I can bring in my clothes. She was not very supportive and said they are quite full etc. Wheneve I ask about something she said "No we dont take" I felt she was so unfriendly and was not willing even to get clothes from me. I think she was already under the impression / attitude that I was a sales person.
This is the first time I contacted ENCORE and the first impression is horrible. I hope ENCORE is not cheap and mean just like some of the recycled clothes.
Just about myself, Im new in NZ and came from Dubai which is a shopping hub full of high end branded stuff. I too have quite lot of such stuff which I felt I am not fitting into and thought of recycling. Anyway im sure there are quite lot of other recycle stores in Auckland, that have at least professional workers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really disappointed, took a beautiful pair of leather trousers for them to sell, they were returned with what looks like scissor mark cuts on the leg. When I notified Encore all I got was a "Sorry, Encore". I've been going to Encore as a customer since it was in the arcade back in the 80s/90's. When I emailed again to say it would be nice for the damage to be acknowledged I was told to "Read the Ts and Cs, Encore" - very unprofessional. Clearly someone needs lessons in customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Novice sellers be aware. Someone is making money at Encore and it's not the naive - yes, that's what I was - person who took an item in to be sold, the very first and probably my last time of going through a Recycled Boutique.
My brand new, leather bag bought in Florence, Italy sold for $107 but I only received $38.30! The staff were most empathetic, prattling on about the T&C's which after this experience I have since read other reviews and it seems the owner of this business has no empathy and simply quotes them, and is busy making $$$ and very uncaring.
