★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice small reserve in Mount Eden town centre area; a great oasis for the hustle and bustle of the daily life in Mount Eden. Surprisingly quiet compared to the Mount Eden Road, which is just a stone-throw away. The reserve is equipped with various playground amenities so you can sit and enjoy your hot coffee or hot chocolate while supervising you children playing in the playground.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The backyard of Mt Eden village is this Essex Reserve. There is an open area with seats and a playground plus a steel sculpture. It’s very popular with local young mums. It’s full of people during lunch breaks sitting here enjoy the sunny day with a sandwich or sushi bought from the village.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A reserve in the middle of a busy neighborhood? Yes, you can find this Essex Reserve in Ponsonby, easy to find and with some basic playground facilities. There are some seats and tables, so I wonder if during the week it gets busy with people enjoying their lunch on its grounds. Great little heaven to enjoy in a chaotic day.
