Had what was easily the best Paua Burger I have ever eaten... will stop here whenever I happen to drive past Te Horo.
Our 18 month old enjoyed the free fluffy they gave him too

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a lovely place to stop with a small shopping complex and a few small bird aviaries to look at. Traffic noise is minimal even with the main road close by.
The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Staff were friendly and helpful.
However, the front of house staff were sloppy.. there was no spoon with my chowder or at the table and I had to request one. The person to my right was served from my left and the person to my left was served from my right which meant both times staff leant across me, when there was room beside each of those people being served for staff to stand. And I got an armpit in my face while I was still eating when a coffee cup to my left was removed from my right.
We were 3 people sitting at a small square table with a wall as the fourth side. There was never any need to be going across in front of me with meals meant for others or when clearing the table.
But the staff were cheerful, chatty and helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly helpful staff and great looking food. About twice a year, I fancy a mince n cheese pie. Well... these ppl make the best I have had in years! The cheese is on top rather than sliding around inside and the pastry was just deliciously flaky. The best! I'll go back to dine in on some of their other meals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is nice but the service was slow and not particularly friendly. Ordered from the cabinet as I was in a rush and waited 20 minutes for it to be toasted... Recommend The Coffee Shack next door if you're short on time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food range is good, drinks choices excellent, plentiful plates (large serving sizes), absolutely delicious salad with a generous serving of prawns (definitely a prawn salad, not a salad with a hint of prawn). Am absolutely going to return here, fantastic service also. Ka pai to mahi! Kia ora, see you again soon!
