This is one of those places where you ask yourself - do you go here for the service or the food?
This place is the food.
Good food but staff just do their job and serve you, no smile, no friendliness. So Kudos to the chef it is then.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Location - Nestled out of the hustle from State Highway 1, parking can be busy (try the street behind shops) but is free, indoor and outdoor eating options, grateful smokers are allowed outdoors.
Clean, spacious dining. Flat indoor and outdoor surface.
Service - Friendly, vibrant and professional customer service. offered ashtray and food to be moved outdoors. We reserved a table just in case due to weekend popularity.
Goods - Food is delicious, massive menu options including cabinet food, highly recommend the iced chocolate drink, wish there were menus available on tables (maybe they had run out of them at that time).
Recommend - Yes definitely, we'll be back again and again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointing customer service, honestly the southern fried chicken salad was yum but feels like a snack size food for the price of full lunch over priced. Milkshake tasted like melted Ice cream. Very deceiving over all. Sorry but I had a bad experience here today.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is delicious!!! We had the Smokey American burger, Pulled pork burger and kids waffles. Everything was super fresh and sooooooo yummy. Even down to the mayo that comes with the chips!! Coffee was on point. Milkshakes and iced coffee was really lovely. Definitely be coming here again.
As for the staff, they are incredible. Welcoming and kind. Nothing short of old school service. Beautiful beautiful!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Otaki is a good stopping point in general. But you can treat yourself even better. Reds Cafe has the greatest atmosphere to relax in Otaki. I ordered something they don't have in a menu and have got everything I've ordered made beautifully. Fast service with a smile, clean and tidy, delicious food - everything you can wish for. Thank you Reds Cafe!!!?

Feta and spinach filo with side salad was tasty and salad was fresh and zesty.
Coffee was okay.
Slightly expensive but a great place to take grandma on an outing from the rest home.
