★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cool museum. You can catch a ride on a tram around the park or easily walk it. They have many old shops and houses that are set up as though you're walking through them last century with heaps of old antiqes at every stop. Great way to spend 2-3 hours of the day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today we visited Ferrymead Heritage Park. As someone new to ChCh it was my first time to the park. We had a great time, especially with the Tram, where the driver and conductor were keen to talk to us about everything about the history of the trams. As well as showing us how everything worked and a thorough knowledge of the history of the tram.
Also Ross, one of the may helpers on site, went above and beyond when taking us around the model railway exhibit. The knowledge and attention to detail he showed were second to none. He made our day!! it was great to see the inner workings of the model railway exhibit!!
We loved all the exhibits but the dedication of the staff to prepare everything and also be able to answer all our questions was admirable.
In summary...loved it all...keep up the good work!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not busy mid week the day I went and number of exhibits were shut. Better time to go would be weekend when most things are open. Big area to cover and no where available to get food and drink while in park but that could be different on a weekend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Attended Saturday night market for the first time.
The local Jowett club had a few cars on display.
Steam train and cable car running and many exhibits open.
Lots of food trucks to choose from for the hungry public and a mix of stall holders selling a variety of goods.
Lots of people about and plenty of kids which of course it's all about.
... too learn of a different era in a hands on view.
Nice night until the cold sea wind crept in but one cant hold it against mother nature. At least it wasn't raining.
I will reattend in the summer to get a different feel of things.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The heritage site is fantastic. The kids loved looking at all the old buildings and how things used to be. The tram ride was really neat also. We spent at least 2 hours here taking everything in.
